Rainmaker Companion is an AI-supported advisory tool designed to help law firm partners think through revenue opportunities across their client portfolio. It helps surface relationship expansion opportunities, competitive positioning considerations, and key moments in client lifecycles where new engagements may emerge.

This is not a training program. The goal is to provide partners with practical advice and thinking support on real client situations — helping translate market signals, relationship dynamics, and client developments into concrete opportunities for new work.

For your pilot, Rainmaker Companion is in an alpha state. We have a functioning product that is tailored to your reality and applies leading expertise to all your commercial scenarios. This is still, however, subject to significant calibration as we learn more about your queries and the advice that would help you the most. In addition, our product development team continues to advance certain user experiences and product features — areas where your direct feedback and opinion would help. For more information on what the product can do, see How to Work with Piper.

Participation is intentionally lightweight — approximately 8–10 hours total over the 8-week pilot. This includes a short onboarding conversation, two group sessions, and optional submission of client situations where you would like a second perspective. Most time spent will align with your normal client development activities.

Examples include: Where might there be expansion opportunities within a client relationship? How should we position against competing firms in a pursuit? What are the key moments in a company's lifecycle that typically create new legal work? How might we frame value and pricing in a way that strengthens positioning? Partners can also submit real client situations or pursuits for analysis.

Partners may submit pricing-related questions during the pilot. These will help inform discussion in the final workshop focused on value proposition, positioning, and pricing strategy.

The tool uses AI to analyze market signals, company context, and relationship dynamics. All outputs are reviewed by Lumio's expert team to ensure practical relevance and accuracy.

Yes. Information shared through the pilot will be treated as confidential and used solely to support participating partners and to improve the system. Individual partner inputs will not be shared broadly without permission. Client confidential information will be handled in accordance with firm policy.

Insights will primarily be shared with the participating partner. Lumio may summarize anonymized themes across the pilot to help firm leadership understand broader commercial patterns.

At the end of the 8-week period, Lumio will host a final discussion session to share observations and insights from the pilot. Participation does not obligate partners to continue using the tool.
